Spring is almost here, maybe!

With Spring lurking around the mountain, we need to get ourselves ready for ....yep, you guessed it, Spring yard work.

I don't get particularly meticulous about the lawn, oh it's green all right, but probably not very healthy after being dormant all winter.

So this year I've decided to work a little harder for the good of the lawn.

I'm gonna take all the necessary steps to an overall improvement of the greenery.

P.S. Note to self : " sharpen mower blade". !

February is almost over but the snow is still here, and it's not going away any time soon.

Down in New Orleans, the who-dat nation are still celebrating the super bowl win.

Here at Dusters, we have beer dinners every month, and they are doing quite well, as this months' is sold out.

Well, Hell must have frozen over.

The Saints, my favorite Pro football team have won the Super Bowl. Some people may not sleep for awhile.

It was a well played game, and I enjoyed watching it. My grand son and his parents were at our house Sunday night for the game. At some point he fell a sleep in his Fathers' arms, but my wife got so excited about the game she let out a mild scream, which woke the baby and he started crying, so we had to be very quiet after that.

New Orleans will forever be celebrating this BIG Super Bowl win. And to think Mardi Gras is on going NOW!!!

You have to be from Louisiana to understand why people live there.

Some of my relatives are in New Orleans as I write this trying to witness the celebration. Have a good time!!

Well the New Orleans Saints are in the super bowl, WOW!!

All I can say is win or lose they had a great season.

The city of N.O. is as deserving as any city with a Pro football franchise, but with one big exception,

it's Carnival season, which means that if the Saints lose, there will be a party going on anyway.

Wish I could be there for the celebration.

I just hope that it is a good game.

The New Year came in with yet another snow storm. It's really cold here today.

In Louisiana they are struggling to stay warm and deal with the cold.

Mardi Gras is coming soon to New Orleans and a lot of other areas as well, King cakes are being eaten all over South Louisiana. These are specialty cakes made just in time for Mardi Gras, there is a lil plastic baby hidden inside each cake, the person who gets this baby has to purchase the next cake.

I had the pleasure of riding on a float in a parade during the season and it was an experience like no other, these Krewes sure know how to have a great party on wheels.

Watching a parade is a Grand time, but riding on a float in one, takes it to a whole different level.

There are lots of web sites on the net to find out more about Mardi Gras in Nawlins or any other city that has the event.

Makes me wish Spring would get here soon.

Another year has gone by and winter has come in with a major storm for our area. I have never been through a BIG snowstorm like the one that came roaring in

to make it a white Christmas for many across the Midwest. In Louisiana we didn't get a lot of snow, but when we did it was a major event, last year was a rare

time when some areas received 10 - 12 inches, I remember someone asking if we had instructions for building a snow man. I got a big chuckle out of that line.

I hope everyone had a great year.
